Over Christmas, I found that I could upgrade from 1 Mbps to 2 Mbps and then "up to" 8 Mbps. At the last house I was getting around 10 Mbps, so anything less is a struggle.
To cut a long (long) story short, it took nearly a month to get the service in place. I've also being measuring my speed regularly and, as the graph shows, it is somewhat variable. Every so often, the download speed falls below the upload speed. Usually when Gill is working from home. I call Tiscali's help line where I usually have to wait listening to rubbish music before talking to someone who tries to talk me through sorting out my windows box. What I do normally is to cut them short, explain that I run Mac and nothing, but nothing, has happened to the system. Today's a good day - it's 4.8 Mbps.
