Esther Comes Home

I picked Esther up from the railway station at the end of her 6 week trip to Taiwan and the far east. Sounds a blast. Washing elephants sounds fun.

Ely Cathedral

Swim!

I used google maps to work out how to get to Ely. For some reason, google thought that I meant Ely in the US. The map had us driving to France and then swimming the Atlantic. Weird but funny.

Birds

If we leave the door to the laundry room open, we can see straight out to one of our bird feeders. This is a picture of a chaffinch.

Eating our own vegetables

This is the first of our crop - spinach. I'm going to make spinach with grean peas and bacon to go with our evening meal.

Dancing with the devil

After all my trials with BT last year, I've moved back to them. Why? Tiscali cannot give me the service that I want. The download speed this month has been of the order of 300 kpbs evenings and weekends and cannot be better until they get more capacity.

In the end they offered me a MAC so that I could go elsewhere. BT broadband is due in a week; fingers crossed.

Hot and Sunny

I took today off, not expecting much from the weather. Instead it's been a great day, blue skies, sunshine. If anything too hot. I created another small vegetable plot and planted carrot, raddish and rocket seeds. I also started playing with automatic watering systems, but not much pressure from the water barrels - I'll need to think more.
