bike camera hack

I asked on the twip discussion forum if anyone could recommend a handlebar mount for a camera or video. One chap came up with this and I had a poke around the garage. My version is not as good, I couldn't find an appropriate wing nut and I had to pad out the handlebars a bit with an old inner tube. The thing next to it is my Garmin gps. It works though, even if the camera angle is a bit odd. I'll be fixing that.

Open Street Mapping

btfon

I've signed us up. This means that if you loiter around our house and you're a member of FON (actually BT FON, see here) you can get internet access. I'll try the bus stop across the road later to see if the wifi gets that far. It also means that we can get access at all FON sites across the world.

[Yes, our BT FON access point reaches to the bus stop. Do you think that I should put up a little poster?]

internet

After the complete nightmare that was Tiscali, I shifted back to BT for my broadband. However, I got into the habit of measuring my broadband speeds regularly (I use www.thinkbroadband.com which lets me keep a record). This graph shows my record with BT. I'm getting about 5.3 Mbits download and about 400 Kbits upload. It got faster after I did some rewiring in the house

peas!

This is Gill and Esther picking the first of the peas this year. They are delicious and they picked more today than I managed to grow all of last year. Hopefully they'll keep us fed for a few weeks. Some compensation for pretty dull July weather.
